As part of the annual V&A Emerging Designer Commission, I explored generational knowledge through craft, heritage and ancestral stories inspired by Sikh Architecture, translating them in conceptual furniture. Informed by paintings, prints, drawings in the V&A Collection, 'Sitting with your Virtues and Vices' is an exploration of the 5 Vices and 5 Virtues taught in the Sikh faith. The Iroko (African Teak) bench explores this concept through its concave and convex design and asks if design can encourage spiritual thinking.
